No magic, just patience. really the only advice I give folks is to submit and then move on. If you get listed great but if not, you are in good company as very few sites actually get listed.

My personal blog-- Q's Wire was listed-- however not my business site, QiSoftware nor the associated business blog. I have been trying for awhile now. Does anyone know why this may have happened?

DMOZ routinely lists software consultancies amongst their offerings and Q's Wire... is located on my business domain so it is not because it is a business? Also, I tend to edit more often on the other areas of my site rather than Q's Wire... so it was not for the spectacular writing... ?

Q...

I would think it would depend to an extent on the editor responsible for the particular area in which you're trying to get a listing.

And since it's all out of our control anyway, might as well just do as David suggested. Submit and move on.

www.dmoz.org, also known as the "Open Directory Project."

DMOZ is the engine for some search engines and many use it as a base to work from. I think its weight has diminished over the years but if you can get listed it will certainly help with the engines.
