Question Is Google PPC Advertising Useful?

My company will buy ppc advertising next week . From next week Monday the ppc advertising will be effective. Any one have used it can give us comments about it?

I'm mainly using PPC for research. It's a fantastic tool from this point of view.

I agree it's fantastic for market research. My advice by the way is to check out perrymarshall.com

I found his book on AdWords to be incredibly useful. And if you don't want to shell out any cash, his site still has a ton of useful information for free.

I use PPC extensively for sales and secondly research. It can be very effective for selling a product.

PPC can be a teriffic marketing strategy.

However, poorly used it can be a black hole.

Make sure you have your landing and sales pages written for each ad and have tracking links so you know precisely what's happening.

Limit your budget for each ad to about 200 clicks initially, so you can tweak the ad, to improve ROI without entering the black hole.

Watch the campaign like a hawk. 200 clicks can occur in 2 minutes sometimes, depending on the keywords you choose.

Default Ppc

brian, if you are going to do PPC, look out. Its a bidding war. If you lose your placement to the person who wants to pay more they will take your spot and you will not show up on the first page sponsored link again. GET SOMEONE TO DO UNLIMITED PPC ON YAHOO OR GOOGLE FOR A FLAT FEE PER MONTH and GUARANTEE FIRST PAGE PLACEMENT

Top bidder doesn't automatically get top spot on Google. I have clients that are paying 25% of what the top bid is, but as the CTR and conversion ratios are so high they are being shown top.

Adwords is about far FAR more than what you bid. You must reduce your bid as often as possible to ensure you are not driving up the bids of your rivals.

Capecodder, if you're replying to the post from scsurfguy, he would be talking about his own company. As Old Welsh Guy states, scsurfguy is not correct when he talks about price being the sole determinant for PPC placement. There is a 'quality score' that many of the major PPC vendors have implemented, which factors in with the price to determine your actual placement.

There are many vendors out there with PPC bid management tools that can automate your placement, by modifying price, etc based on rules that you determine. If your campaigns are going to be relatively small, then you will most likely be able to handle them manually.
