Smile technique of linking

You can link your website follow sources:

1. Forum posting
2. Social bookmarking
3. comment writing

But I think forum posting is best of all.

Yeah, check for related sites/blog to your website and drop a comment. Make sure that it's a real comment and not just commenting to leave a link. Some of the commenting platform has a URL option, where in if you put a link it will directly be linked to the "name" you have entered/used. So, your name will be automatically hyperlinked.

Another way is to add a link on the body of your comment, though not all comment platform allows it. Just be sure you are not spamming, 'coz this will affect your site, especially now that Google always change their algorithm and want to kill spammers.

You can also do Guest Posting - this one is the best. High quality content is enough to start driving traffic to your site. Doing this more often, you can see the changes & improvement on your site.

Hope this helps

I'd try to find sites and directories that are relevant to your business (and customers).

Google doesn't tend to respect "easy" directories with no editorial content so there is little, if no value in using them.

Personally, I think guest blogging is the best way, but it involves a lot of effort as you usually have to build a relationship with the owner of the site. We tend to publish 1 in 4 articles/blogs that we write on other sites. They usually have to be unique too as many site owners use copyscape to check for duplicate content.

There's no easy way for getting quality links. You must judge yourself from where to get links that have quality and will generate traffic.

Try to share your thoughts on business related sites especially on those where small entrepreneurs come frequently. That would be much better and easier for your online business.

Links left in forums and blog commenting can help very little (although, so far, they don't hurt). SEO is extremely difficult since Google is trying to do whatever it can to prevent webmasters from building links to their own websites. Even experienced marketers are failing and guest blogging is being labeled as a black hat technique, after Matt Cutts described it as a "spammy practice".

The easiest way, for someone who is just starting up, is to check out what other people are doing. Tools like Ahrefs, MajesticSEO or Open Site Explorer can give you a nearly complete list of links to any website so you will be able to see how your competitors are building their links. These subscriptions are not cheap. The cheapest service they offer is like $60 per month, but there is a workaround if you are able to find a low-cost application that gives you access to the API of any of those three tools.

You can also hire an SEO to do the job for you. If you decide to go that route, be careful who you choose since many so-called experts will create links that may harm rather than improve your SERPs.
