Question Google’s Link Schemes Page

Google has anouncd to its Linhk Schemes Page that
"Any links intended to manipulate PageRank or a site’s ranking in Google search results may be considered part of a link scheme and a violation of Google’s Webmaster Guidelines. This includes any behavior that manipulates links to your site or outgoing links from your site."

So what type of links are likely to be considered as the part of a link scheme and a violation of google's webmaster guidelines?

You need to keep reading. It goes on to say,
Quote:
The following are examples of link schemes which can negatively impact a site's ranking in search results:

Buying or selling links that pass PageRank. This includes exchanging money for links, or posts that contain links; exchanging goods or services for links; or sending someone a “free” product in exchange for them writing about it and including a link
Excessive link exchanges ("Link to me and I'll link to you") or partner pages exclusively for the sake of cross-linking
Large-scale article marketing or guest posting campaigns with keyword-rich anchor text links
Using automated programs or services to create links to your site

Additionally, creating links that weren’t editorially placed or vouched for by the site’s owner on a page, otherwise known as unnatural links, can be considered a violation of our guidelines.

Yep. Many people don't realize how strict Google's guidelines are when it comes to links. People still practice and advise dangerous linking techniques that can be deadly to a site.

Problem is, Google doesn't consistently enforce their policies. However, don't let that fool you. What passes as okay can suddenly become a penalty in today's volatile Internet environment.

Best and safest policy? Create high quality content that pleases your human visitors. Please them so well that they link to you on their own. Those natural links are the best links.

Admit it, as the old strategy that focuses on gaining page rank for the website. Everyone does those strategy, but as of today Google warn everyone to do not focus on that but instead focus on how you will contribute for the users, and how you will gain trust and authority in your field.
