Default 1&1 Commercial - Website Builders

There are a lot of new (or old) website builders targeted at small businesses. I just saw a commercial for 1&1.com where the first line of the commercial is "need a small business website"?

Anyone have any experience with website builders like 1&1 or intuit? I've fiddled with website builders before and they can be a bit clunky. I'm thinking the big disadvantage to using them is they output messy code that is poor quality for search engine indexing and ranking.

I'm in the process of starting a small business to help individuals and small businesses get simple websites, similar to what they get with 1&1, intuit, etc. only my service is much better or course

I'll probably be writing reviews on services like these for comparision but thought I'd start here to see if anyone has any experience with them.

I've had horrible experiences with 1and1. Reported them to the Better Business Bureau, actually. Last time I checked, they had an F rating.

May seem like a good deal, but this comes highly unrecommended.

If I were you, I'd use one of the top rated shared hosting providers (I think Arvixe gets good reviews) and find a good WordPress designer/developer to hook everything up. Or, if your budget is smaller than that, Squarespace or even webs.com could do the trick.
