Default 10 Ways For Entrepreneurs to Find More Time

I found an interesting article regarding time management for entrepreneurs. There were 10 suggestions to find more time and I thought it would be interesting to hear others share their suggestions on them.

1. Get clear on your top priorities for the day/week/month
2. Use the 80/20 rule: 80% of your success comes from 20% of your efforts
3. Ask for help
4. Automate
5. Simplify
6. Consolidate: figure out places to consolidate your efforts
7. Leverage: obtain multiple uses out of the things you've already created.
8. Vision: staying connected to "the big picture" by creating flow
9. Chunking: complete similiar types of work at the same time
10. Analysis: keep track of what's working really well

How do you find more free time?

Thumbs up Finding the right 20%

I like the 80/20 rule. I find it applies to most things I do.

The trick is knowing which 20% of your efforts are the right ones -- the 20% that actually will yield that 80% of results.

It is pretty important to measure and analyze what you do. That's the only way to know which is the right 20%.

Otherwise, I have to guess and sometimes guess wrong. I think I am working on the right things, but later find out I'm not.

Default Chunking

I liked the suggestion about chunking your work. It makes sense. If you can complete similiar tasks at the same time - it really can save you loads of time in the end.

And the 80/20 rule is very interesting. It's true - 20% of your efforts will ususally yield 80% of your results. It's a great article.

Default I get by with a little help from my friends

Staci

I really liked the article and your post. Good practical advice. If I can I would like to add one more tip and that is to have friends, mentors, advisors to help you make sure you stay on track. I don't know about you but even with all of the tips and systems I can find myself veering off track when things really get busy.

Kind of like the frog in the boiling pot....we don't know we aren't applying the practical tips until we aren't..... if that makes sense. Sometimes it takes outsiders (that want us to succeed) to provide us perspective, challenge us to see the things we can't see and hold us accountable.
