Default Moving LLC From Europe To USA

Hello all,

I am an IT consultant based in the Netherlands (Dutch Citizen). I have been working as a freelance technical consultant for a number of years under my personal name until I decided to setup an LLC following an advice from my accountant because I reached the threshold of 110K a year. I have plans to move to the US and get reunited with my girlfriend.

I chose to pay taxes in the US than Europe.

1- How can I operate from the US, while my contractor is a foreign based company in Europe?
2- Does anyone have an experience with linking a foreign LCC to a US based sole proprietor or LLC... or merging the two into one based in the US?
3- Is it better to start small as a sole proprietor and setup an LLC later?

Thanks all,

Adam

Hi Adam,

I would highly advise consulting a professional accountant/lawyer over this issue especially if you are talking about over a 100k a year? Why would you not want to just set up an LLC or sole proprietor in the USA. Are you planning on becoming a US citizen? What makes you want to pay taxes in the USA and not your home country? What state do you live in now. I am sure you will be fine as long as you consult a tax/law professional which is not as expensive as you think.
