Default How To Start An Indoor Soccer Facility

I have recently been interested in finding a building big enough to build if nessicary an indoor soccer arena. Having never owned a business I have just a few questions:

1) What kind of building is nessicary
2) How much would something like that generally cost
3) How would I go about building if I had to a soccer facility indoors
4) what kind of insurance would I have to get in order to start leagues

If anyone could shed some light on this I would greatly appreciate it.

Welcome to the forum

I'm not so sure there's nothing, but part of the forum is based on others sharing their experiences. I'm guessing, but pretty sure there isn't any active members who have done exactly what you are asking to respond.

I'm familiar with indoor soccer facilities, and I've seen everything from multimillion dollar complexes to bare bones facilities in a converted wharehouse/shop space. The actual size probably depends on how many fields you want. One in particular I'm thinking of has two fields and then a smaller one so teams can warm up and keep the games going.

I would go to many and participate as a customer, before considering owning one. I've had friends break bones playing, and I think there were probably releases where the player was responsible.

Regarding insurance, usually you will get more of a response if you ask one question per thread. I would ask that specific question alone in our forum for Insurance -

Again though, many might not have direct experiences so getting an insurance agent to advise you is probably the best route.

Hope to see you around more!

the actual building used would need to have some variables attached such as location in comparison to your target market. The building cost would depend on your immediate area. The build out cost would depend on how much you had to change, how much you could/would do on your own, and the demand of similar services as well as your current local economy.

I've never done this, so below is my opinion and some guesses. Don't rely on these, althought they should hopefully be in the ballpark.

1) What kind of building is nessicary
Something that doesn't have supports/columns in the middle of it where your soccer field will be. This means that you need a clear span the entire width of a soccer field, which will be somewhat expensive.

2) How much would something like that generally cost
If you are in a major metro area, my guess is around $3-5 Million including land. If you are in a rural area, I would guess around $800k-$1.5 Million including land.

3) How would I go about building if I had to a soccer facility indoors
Try talking to a few local contractors. They should be willing to give you some ballpark pricing and they'll know your area much better than anyone here on the forums.

4) what kind of insurance would I have to get in order to start leagues
This one I can't answer, other than to say that it wouldn't cost you anything to sit down with a few insurance agents to get their thoughts.

Red face Indoor Soccer Facility

Hello,

Its been about two years since this thread had activity, but I wanted to revisit the topic. Driving my two boys twice a week 23 miles RT to one of the nearby indoor facililties takes a toll. We have three in the area of which only two cater specifically to soccer. Local soccer associations have teams using these faciltiies for two winter indoor sessions. Many are farther away than my township. Within 10 miles of my home, there are over 25 soccer associations.

With bad economy and building owners looking for businesses, I was thinking it could be a good time to look at opening an indoor facility closer to our township.

The issue is trying to locate a facility to covert (maybe a former Circuit City location or abandoned warehouse), securing financing and insurance. Also having a facility that is flexible to offer other sports....baseball batting cages, lacrosse, etc.

I'm looking for ideas and suggestions.

Thank you.
