Question Visitor Tracking Software

Lets analyze a hypothetical website.

monthly visitors: 10,000
monthly profit: $1,000
# of pages on site with more than 1,000 monthly page loads: 30
monetization strategy: Ad Revenue (adwords, yahoo, etc.)

Do you guys feel that google webmaster tools would have sufficient analyzing power to understand visitor patterns? Or, would more powerful software be needed? (eg. crazy egg)?

Thanks guys, I am trying to get a rough idea of how powerful google webmaster tools are.

Default I am still looking for an answer to this question

Hi everyone,
I'll rephrase the question to make it simpler to answer.

Do you guys feel that google webmaster tools would have sufficient analyzing power to understand visitor patterns on an information website with:

10,000 Monthly Visitors
100 Pages on the site

Thanks alot,
Evan

If it suits your needs, I do not see why not. We use Google Analytics and locally I run a program by Exact Trend.

solid: what information you are looking at? Google analytics has most of it covered. Pay close attention to it.

BTW, 100k visitors will get you more than just $1000

I don't go only by analytics, although i'd say it is running on many of the sites I work with.

An alternative view (more seo/longtail) is www.hittail.com

To me it depends on what you are trying to understand. Is there something you know you want to understand, but haven't been able yet with Analytics? If so there may be a way, or another solution might be worthwhile. Its impossible to say in my opinion, because it depends in turn what you do with the information.

I'm familar with many, webtrends, clicktracks, crazyegg, and a lot of other more basic applications. For example, crazyegg provides an overlay. Analytics does that also. Clicktracks too. and so on.

I don't like any of them specifically for keyword analysis, and typically analyze log referrals through a program like hittail.com more frequently than watching some of the more common 'stats'.

The ultimate reference to me though, after all that is conversions. That can be in the manner of many things, including a phone call, form submitted .... leads ... versus purchases, advertising revenue and more. Taking the time to truly figure that out is what matters the most to me....and none of these stats make it 'easy' to do that.
