Default No Follow, Do Follow Links??

Is no-follow link, good for SEO?

Link building plays an important role in SEO. The healthy links are created by directory submissions, article submissions, video submission, blog submission, forum activities and much more. The links obtained by these activities may be with do-follow or no-follow attribute which is based on the site linking to you.
Links with do-follow and no-follow attribute make more difference in SEO strategy. Many site owners think that no-follow links are bad for SEO and it affects the SERP result. But practically it was not the case! As per the Google scenario itís the do-follow links which create some negative effect when it was from the unrelated sites.

Are you confused with the do-follow and no-follow attributes?

The links with the do-follow attributes are crawled by the Google or other search engine bots. So do-follow links must be from the relevant and high PR sites, as it was crawled by the search engine bots. Do-follow link plays an important role in increasing SERP results, if it links from high PR sites.
At the same time, links with no-follow attributes are not crawled by the search engine bots. Many websites provide no-follow links. Though it wonít influence SERP result, these links may bring huge traffic to your websites which indirectly helps in improvement of SERP results. Amount of traffic depends on the popularity of the site linking to you.

Hence no-follow links does not harm the ranking of the website; instead they help to increase traffic to your website.

Please share your thoughts guys.

I agree with you, though no-follow links are not passing any link juice, but they are most important for website traffic. Getting a no-follow link from any relevant and authoritative source can directly help you in getting a boost of website traffic, without which you wonít get conversions of any form of sales.

Am confused with no-follow back links, many say there is no use with no-follow links, but the links are also helpful when shared in social networking sites and increase traffic, website visibility in search results.

i agree with you, no follow links doesn't harm the site. but we should have a special care while getting do-follow links, as do-follow links from irrelevant sites may leads to penalty.

SEO research has shown that no follow links are used to cure the penalized websites

You have to know one rule, nothing you make it natural is bad, all will contribute its benefits to your site, but how much of its effect will be the different. No-follow is good, but its effect is different from do-follow.

Dofollow Link is a hyperlink that is able to tell all search engines to pass along itís page rank influence to an outbound link.

Nofollow Link is exactly the opposite. It is a hyperlink that removes the ability to pass on itís page rank status to other sites.

Off course no-follow links help site from being penalized, as do-follow links from low PR sites hurt the ranking. Hence making do-follow links as no-follow links will leads to removal of penalty by search engines.
