Default What’s A Squeeze Page?

A Squeeze Page is a single web page that has only one function. That is, to get you to provide your name and e-mail address.

You’ve seen countless Squeeze Pages. You know you’re at one when you have absolutely no choice but to enter your e-mail address (to go any further), or leave. There is no other navigation; no other choices.

Now that may sound a little bold, but...

It is a single web page with the sole purpose of capturing information for follow-up marketing, i,e NO exit hyperlinks. Quality squeeze pages use success stories that the prospect would relate to when making a buying decision.

They also use things like color psychology, catchy sales copy and keyword rich text placed with SEO in mind.

The problem with squeeze pages is the large number of them used by shady internet businesses. Many people regard a single page site as a sign of a scam. Scammers don't usually invest much in their scam sites, so single page sites fit their modus operandi perfectly.

Generally the only people that advocate the single page sites are the marketers that are trying to sell them...

The REAL problem is people who THINK (or, actually don't think) and consider everything sold online is a scam.

Regardless of whether you want to believe is or not, there is a value to information. It's called 'intellectual property' and it's protected under copyright laws of the US, Canada and most developed countries around the globe.

If you don't want the information being offered, don't sign up. It's that simple. But you don't have to automatically assume that a squeeze page represents a scam... because if you do, then I could draw some conclusions about people like you.

Online, perception is everything. Why do companies spend money to have a website which looks professional and credible? It isn't because they like to spend money, it's because they understand that they will be judged by how they present themselves.

You looked at my post and instantly took it personally. Did I say everything sold online is a scam? No, I did not. I said that single page sites are a favorite of scammers because they are cheap, easy, and quick to deploy. The run of the mill con artist doesn't want to invest money so the single page site is perfect for their needs.

That does not mean that every squeeze page is a scam, it simply means that using them puts you in a category with a lot of sites that have the feel of a cheap infomercial (ShamWOW now !). A company could be 100% reputable and awesome, but if they look the same as 15 other sites that seemed fishy, you can get regarded the same. I've been approached by people looking for dirt cheap 1 page sites that were trying to market absolute garbage to target the unwitting. I didn't take the clients, and it wasn't because of the low price, it was because of what they were doing.

It's no different in everyday life, if you drive a black Escalade with shiny mags and tinted windows, more people will think "drug dealer" when you drive by than anything else. It's perception, not truth, and perception determines whether people will trust you enough to learn the truth.

Perception is reality. Online and offline.

Squeeze pages work because they force the user to make a decision. If done correctly, they can be extremely effective.
