Default Employee Time Management Software?

Hello everyone!

I am with a small, 9-10 person company specializing in market research. We are trying to keep track of how much time each employee is spending on different projects as well as supplemental tasks, so that we can accurately price out our services. I heard there were a couple of different kinds of time management freeware out there. Is that the best way to go, or have any of you found that a different approach works better?

Thank you

Alison

You are looking for Business Statistics Software. I do not know of any, but we used Excel to calculate this in college. It takes more work because you have to include many factors that play into downtime and uptime, off days, sick, raw materials, cost, and salary. I would suggest calculating this from top down per department. How much material is shipped to each department in 24 hours, how much completed products are completed, and what they have in inventory to complete the projects.

if you need to track exact time spent per task, we yse time stamp freeware. You can google the name. I believe there is another software that might be a little better. I would ask Karri from snap-va about the software she uses.

I was on a Live meeting yesterday for Project 2007 and it actually accrues time as well. But I am not certain about the payroll part

speaking of.... have you tried time doctor applications?

I've just been instructed to start using it. TimeDoctor.com is draconian. It tracks 100% of time worked, also including sites like the times. I'm personally crapping my pants using it. Is it legal in Australia to ask people to use this type of software?

And for remote tracking, I recommend AccuTimeCard.
! note that the employee needs to have installed a web-cam.

If you want to do time tracking in a system that makes it incredibly easy to track employee time & attendance, do project costing, or set up clients and prepare data for billing, take a look at Replicon. It's easy to export your time tracking info to QuickBooks, etc. The software is web-based so you can work from anywhere with an Internet connection. Read more here: http://bit.ly/rrg9Tx Full disclosure: I work for Replicon and use its products.
